BCAT: Video Voyagers 2013-2014

Burlington Cable Access Television After School program: “Video Voyagers”

Burlington Cable Access Television (BCAT) is once again enrolling Burlington middle schoolers for BCAT’s after school video program “Video Voyagers”.  This program is FREE of charge, however registration is required.

Video Voyagers is for students in 6th thru the 8th grade.  Video Voyagers meets every Wednesday there is school from 3pm to 5pm at the BCAT studio starting September 11th.  Video Voyagers is a program where participants learn about BCAT’s facilities and the basics of video production.  Video Voyagers is coordinated by BCAT Production Coordinators Cory McNeil and Tad Stephanak.  Participants are taught proper use of equipment, both in-studio and in the field.  Video Voyagers encourages participants to conceive and develop their own ideas and teaches them how to bring those ideas to life through video production.  The videos are shot over the course of each school semester and edited into a television program for broadcast on BCAT and for show on BCAT’s web site and social media outlets (YouTube, Facebook & Twitter).  Participants work both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, taking turns as talent, director, camera operator, audio, lighting and all around crew.  Regular support is given to all participants with a particular interest in any of aspect of video production.
