Library materials delivered to the Homebound
Are you either permanently or temporarily unable to get out to the library because of illness or disability and would welcome regular deliveries of library books, audiobooks, or DVD’s? The library offers Homebound Delivery for you. Items can be selected from the online catalog by you, or you can consult with a library staff member who will then choose materials for you. We will then match you with a volunteer who can bring the library to you. Contact Susanne Sullivan at the library (phone781-505-4985; email firstname.lastname@example.org ) if you, or someone you know is interested in this service.
Kilimanjaro: Journey to the Roof of Africa - Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
Join the Friends of the Library for this travel adventure. Lancaster native Peter Christoph will lead us on a photographic journey through 5 climate zones from tropical rain forest to arctic conditions in his quest to reach the summit of 19,340 foot high Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Peter provides commentary throughout the entire presentation, and includes behind-the-scenes photos of how he trained for his adventure.
French printmaker, photographer and writer Dominique Lecomte will show linocuts and woodcuts at the library during the month of February. His work will fill both the first floor gallery and the glass cases in the entry and exit lobbies. Mr. Lecompte is a Medford resident. You can see more of his wonderful work at www.lecomtedominique.com.
