The Burlington Public Library has a wide variety of upcoming programs and events.

The  has a bunch of upcoming events and accounts of past events residents can check out. The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon.

Friend’s Book Sale this weekend! Friday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 30

The Friends of the library Fall book sale is this weekend!  Purchase books at bargain pricing and support the Friends and the Library!

The hours of the sale are as follows:

Friday, Oct. 28: 12:00 to 5:30 p.m. Children who wear a Halloween costume receive a FREE children's book and a treat! Adults who wear a Halloween hat (or festive fall hat) receive a free book!

Saturday, Oct. 29: 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Sunday, Oct. 30: 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.  Sunday is "Buy a Bag" day: fill a brown paper grocery sack and pay what you think it's worth ($3 minimum please), or buy a BIG canvas Friends' bag for $10 and fill it for free!

Discounts for Friends' members throughout the sale: buy 3 books and get one free. Memberships purchased at the Fall Book Sale are good for the entire of the 2012 year!   Also, anyone who joins or renews their membership from October to January 9 (the day of our Friends’ Annual Meeting) will be entered into a drawing for $100 gift card to the Chateau Restaurant and two tickets for any 2012 production of The Burlington Players.

There will also be a raffle opportunity during the book sale.  For only $1.00 per ticket, enter to win one of the following: First Prize - $100 Gift Card from Roche Bros;  Second Prize- $50 Gift Card from Burton's Grill; Third Prize - Ultrasonic Toothbrush; Fourth Prize -Gift Card/Basket from Pawsitive Thoughts Boutique and Bakery; Fifth Prize - $20 Gift Card from Schoolhouse Ice Cream

Children’s Halloween Parade Monday, Oct. 31, 11:30 a.m. 

For infants through preschoolers. Come to storytime in costume, get a treat, and parade around the library!

Teen Pumpkin Cookie Contest

The cookies were decorated and they are now on display.  Check them out and cast your vote for your favorite.  They will remain on display in the Young Adult area until voting ends on Sunday, Oct. 30.
