The Book Corner: News From the Burlington Public Library

The Burlington Public Library has a wide variety of upcoming programs and events.

The has a bunch of upcoming events and accounts of past events residents can check out. The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon.

Library hours (September through mid-June) are as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday: 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

National Library Card Sign-up Month

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month.  If you do not have a library card, now is the time to get one.  If you haven’t visited the library in a while you should come on in and see what’s available here. Yes we have books ( regular print, large print, paperbacks, audio, and access to downloadable), but we have DVD’s ,music cd’s ,games, and magazines that you can borrow with your card as well. We also offer access to a number of databases, many accessible from home with a valid library card. There are passes to 18 area museums and attractions also available to card holders. All you need is a photo identification and proof of residency to take advantage of all that is offered.

The order of winning teams was reported incorrectly.  The proper placement of the winning teams is as follows:

  1. Adil Sageer and Souleiman Benhida (Burlington) - first place
  2. Santi Alvarez and Jordan Dowd (Sage School/Foxboro) – second place
  3. Nihal Sageer and Brianna Abruzzese  (Burlington) – third place

Storytimes

Storytime sessions resume the week of September 17.  The schedule is as follows:

Baby Storytime - Fridays at 11:00 a.m.
For caregivers with children ages birth to 18 months. Delight and stimulate your baby's senses with books, songs and puppets! Build brain power!

Preschool Storytime - Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m.
For caregivers with children ages 3 to 6 years. Help your preschooler get ready to read.  Enjoy stories together and build language skills!

Toddler Storytime - Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
For caregivers with children ages 18 to 36 months. Interact with your toddler to nurture a love of books. Be active with music and movement!

Pajama Time - Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
For caregivers with children ages 3-7. Bring your favorite stuffed animal & blanket, and snuggle in for some evening storytime fun!

(Please note: No storytimes on Friday, October 26 -Fall Book Sale! or Friday, November 23- library closed.)
