The Burlington Public Library has a wide variety of upcoming programs and events.

The has a bunch of upcoming events and accounts of past events residents can check out. The following is a press release listing what has happened, is currently happening and what is coming soon.

Positions available

Burlington Public Library is seeking to fill 2 openings.  For the Assistant to the Children’s Librarian position we are seeking an individual who has working knowledge of teen literature and a genuine respect for the young adult population. To fill the part time Library Technology Specialist we are seeking an individual who has a strong technology background and a working knowledge of library technology.  For more information, see the posting on our website (www.burlingtonpubliclibrary.org).

Children’s programs

  • “Silly Laughing Musical Fun Poetry Show” – Monday, August 13, 1:30-2:30 pm. All ages
  • “Lego Club” - Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1-2 pm. Grades K-5
  • “Summer Scrabble Tournament” – Thursday, Aug. 16, 12:00-4:00 pm.  Grades 4-8. Registration required! Players must register in pairs.

Teen Programs

  • “Open Mic Night/ Art Gallery” – Monday, Aug. 13, 3:15-5 pm.

This is your time to make your creativity shine!  Writers, readers, and musicians are invited to perform at the microphone; artists may show off their work at a gallery reception.  Artists must bring in their work by 6pm, Friday, August 10.  Performers may sign up during the program.  Coffee and baked goods provided.

  • “Animanga Club”- Friday, Aug. 17, 2-3 pm.

Come to the library to view anime and discuss manga.  Snacks provided!

Friends of the Library

Once again, the Friends of the Burlington Public Library will be participating in “Celebrate Burlington”.  Join the fun on Saturday, August 4 and stop by to make a personalized bookmark to use for your summer reading.
