Youth Services

Storytimes will be briefly suspended between August 27 and September 14. However, we will be back to full storytime schedule the following week.  We look forward to the return of old friends and the arrival of new ones!

Raise your child to be a reader! You are your child's most important teacher. The Burlington Public Library offers weekly storytime sessions to help your child develop reading, language and listening skills needed to succeed in school.  Together, parents and librarians help children get ready to read.   Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all storytime sessions. No registration is required for storytime - just drop by!

Summer Reading has come to a close and now its time to prepare for “back to school”.

The displays throughout the youth services department reflect this. We have lots of great titles to send them to school wearing smiles!  Picture books JJ, and J fiction titles highlighting back to school can be found on display. Look for Starting School Picture Books in the Holiday Display section. There are also Back to School Chapter Books in the display next to the YS desk. And to highlight the new season, Fall Reads have taken the place of the summer ones in the cube display.
