Tell Us: Should Burlington Close Schools Tomorrow?

As of 5:45 p.m. there has not been any word on school closings for Monday, but parents on Burlington Patch's Facebook page suggest they should close.

Should Burlington close school tomorrow?

As of the posting of this article there has been no word from the Burlington School Department on whether there will be classes on Monday.

The main roads are cleared and many of the secondary roads are reportedly mostly clear, though there are also reports that some areas of town still have some roads in need of a plow.

The other concern is that the many sidewalks and bus stops have not been cleared, which could post dangers to students walking to school or waiting for the bus.

As one reader posted to the Burlington Patch Facebook page:

"Roads are good but sidewalks are not cleared. Hate to see kids walking to bus stops in the middle of Bedford and FW Roads in the morning ...hope they call off school like the other towns!"

Another reader said:

"Checked out my son's bus stop and there is no place to stand. Standing in the street looks dangerous since the road is narrow and only one car can get by."

Other area towns, including Woburn and Winchester have closed schools for similar reasons.

What do you think? Should Burlington close the schools for Monday? Let us know in the comments section below.

Close the schools. It's too dangerous with kids running around in the streets waiting for buses. It's very difficult to see around the extremely high snowbanks.

I don't see any problem with the kids going to school. I was out driving today and had no problem with the roads. There are going to be high snowbanks for many days!

Our biggest issue with school open today was no sidewalks, our stop is up the street so we drove to school this morning but i had to get out of work early to pick up my son at the stop or he would have had to walk home in the street.
