Snow Starting Tuesday Morning, Freezing Rain in the Afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory on Monday in advance of a storm that expected to add two to four inches of snow before turning into freezing rain.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for the area in advance of  snow showers starting Tuesday morning that may add two to six  inches of the white stuff before turning into freezing rain and rain. The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the NWS, it will begin snowing between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday morning and continue until changing to rain by late Tuesday afternoon. There may be brief periods of sleet and freezing rain during this time. The NWS is predicting between two to six inches of accumulation.

Additionally, the NWS advises that untreated roads may become slippery and dangerous by Tuesday afternoon.
