Evergreen Library System

The switch to the new Evergreen library system by the Burlington Public Library and all members of Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC) occurred a few weeks ago.  As in the case of most changes of this magnitude, there were a number of issues that arose.  The Burlington Public Library staff has done an awesome job of identifying issues and sharing with the MVLC staff.  The MVLC staff has also been working to implement “fixes” that have resulted in improvements.  We thank you all for your patience and understanding during this transition period.  Enhancements that have been made, and others that are coming, will ultimately result is a system that will be more valuable to our patrons

An Evening with Isabella Stewart Gardner
Join the Friends of the Library on Thursday, June 16 at 7 p.m.for a dramatic presentation by character reenactor
Jessa Piaia  introduces all to “America’s first patroness of the arts”, Isabella Stewart Gardner.   This delightful mini-drama is set in 1910, seven years after the opening of Fenway Court,  the handsome townhouse Mrs. Gardner designed and built to hold her extensive art collection, and willed to the City of Boston upon her demise. Recognized leader of Boston’s emerging salon scene, Mrs. Gardner, with characteristic verve and candor, relates episodes about her luminous circle of family and friends, relives journeys to exotic lands, and shares other potentially scandalous encounters.
