Poll: Best Place in Burlington for Children Entertainment

Vote in our poll and let us know who the best is in the comments section below.

Welcome to the newest edition of our Best Of Readers' Choice poll.

Summer is coming and that means the kids will be out at school on vacation. Though they will likely spend a few weeks enjoying themselves, we all remember eventually getting bored and bored children can be a challenge for parents. To help parents find fun things to do in and around Burlington, this week we are asking for your favorite children activities in the area.

Where do your kids like to go for fun? Which activities do they enjoy. Most importantly, where do you feel comfortable taking your children?

Here are a few options we found. If we left your favorite place off the list let us know in the comments below and we'll add it to the running.

  • Burlington Recreation Department
  • North Suburban YMCA (Woburn)
  • Silver Lake (Wilmington)

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

So tell us your favorite place for barbecue supplies and don't forget to tell us why in the comments below.

Voting results posted in real time shall not be deemed official until Patch has reviewed and confirmed all of the votes.

For too long Burlington has ignored the need of a youth center. Woburn has the Boys & Girls Club as well as the YMCA. Burlington has neither. That is why most teenagers who aren't sports minded, hang out at the Mall until they get their license. We had an opportunity to negotiate getting one built on the land-locked parcel but let that go. It is a shame this important need continues to be neglected.

Echo Enrichment Center has so many wonderful programs for young children as well as for special needs adults. The curriculum is always fun and age appropriate and the staff is amazing!

The Burlington Swim and Tennis Club is often dismissed by people for some reason. My family loves it! This will be our 4th summer as members and we have made some great friends there. My kids can't wait for the pool to open Memorial Day weekend. It is better than a Boys and Girls club because the whole family can enjoy it. We spend quality time together all summer long, while the kids enjoy the freedom of running around the club's 4 acres, swimming, making friends, and just being kids. What you spend on the membership fee, you will easily save in money not spent on other expensive activities that you would otherwise do to try to keep the kids busy this summer. Anyone who has not considered the swim and tennis club should check it out!

My family has been a member of the Burlington Swim & Tennis club for 15 years. We no longer have any young children to enjoy the place but it was wonderful as they were young. They got to play all summer in a safe environment with kids of all ages. There are a number of kids who went through the tennis & swimming programs at BSTC that ended up on their local high school teams excelling in that sport. It is a great place to spend the summer, even when your children are grown you (as an adult) can still enjoy swimming in the pool, playing tennis with friends of all ages, socializing or just sitting relaxing & reading a book.

BSTC is the best place I know for summertime family fun. It's totally unpretentious and everyone is welcoming and friendly. It's a great place for kids to kick back and just be kids!

We love spending our summers at the BSTC. It's a great place to spend quality time with your family. It takes the stress out of trying to figure out how to keep the kids entertained all summer. We pack a bag with sunscreen, goggles, towels and tennis raquets and head out each day. My kids get to relax and play all summer, and we get to enjoy being with them. I haven't heard "I'm bored" once in the 5 years since we joined! An added bonus, they are all great swimmers and love participating on the swim team!!

My family has belonged to the Burlington Swim and Tennis club for a numbers of years and have nothing but great memories. We totally enjoy being part of a place where kids can be kids, learn to swim, play tennis and interact with others in a safe environment. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the entire town of Burlington and its surrounding communities don't belong to this place?

My brothers and I spent all of our summers growing up at the BSTC, my parents enjoyed our swim meets and tennis matches and of course spending time BBQ'ing with their friends and children. I am still close with my BSTC childhood friends and we share fond memories. My children are 8 and 9 and will be enjoying their 5th summer this season! If you live in Burlington or the surrounding community come join us as we kick off season opener this Memorial Day Weekend. See all of our recent updates. www.bstc.org

The BSTC is great. We've been members for 6 years now. Although we live in another town and have offered to join a club closer to home, the kids consider this their club and only want to go there.
