Why go: Support the library and stock up on books for the summer. This is one of two annual book sales put on by the Friends of the Library. Also, on Friday, come wearing a a veil, a tiara or a bow tie in celebration of the Royal Wedding and get a free book.

Where/when: Burlington , 162 Winn St: 7 to 11 p.m.

Why go: Included with each ticket is funny money for casino games, a DJ, food, and raffles/silent auctions. This is a fun night out to raise scholarship money for Burlington children.

Why go: Radio personality, Boston Herald columnist and New York Times bestselling author will discuss his new book. In Hitman, Carr investigates Whitey Bulger's hired gun, a man who kept Boston in fear for two decades.

Where/when: , 335 Cambridge St.: Saturday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Chocolatier Jane McIninch from Fine Chokolader of Burlington will talk about techniques for tasting chocolate, different types of chocolate and what makes chocolate so good while samples of different types of chocolate will be available for tasting. This event will support the church's participation in the Project Bread’s annual ‘Walk for Hunger’ in Boston. 

Pricing: $5, refunded with a minimum purchase of $25.

5. JUST DANCE PARTY

Where/when: Woburn Country Club, 5 Country Club Rd, Woburn: Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Why go: A Dance Party to benefit the American Cancer Society's Burlington Relay for Life. Includes hot Hors D’oeuvres, DJ, and cash bar all proceeds to benefit Relay for Life. Come dance the night away with us and help bring an end to cancer.
