Today is Friday, Feb. 8. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Snow: As we're sure everyone has heard, we are in for some snow today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect snow, mainly after 9 a.m. High temperature near 33 degrees. Snow tonight with 12 to 18 inches of accumulation possible. Overnight low around 21. It will also be windy tonight with gusts as high as 55 miles per hour. 
  • Storm center: Keep up with all of the latest with the storm and its impact on Burlington by following our Burlington Storm Center. We will update with closings, power outages, accident reports and any other vital storm news in town.

  • Closings: Burlington Public Schools are closed today because of the impending storm. The Burlington senior center is also closed today.
  • Emergency parking ban: There is an emergency parking ban going into effect today. There will be no parking on any Burlington roads from noon today until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
