Five Things: Pumpkin Fair, Today's Weather and a Zombie Battle

Today is Friday, Oct. 19. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Showers likely: Looks like we're in for some rain today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect showers, mainly after 10 a.m. Rainfall could be between a quarter and half an inch. High temperature near 65 degrees. Showers and a possible thunderstorm tonight, some which could produce heavy rain. Overnight low around 58. 
  • Pumpkin festival: The Fox Hill PTO is hosting a pumpkin fair at the school from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight. The event will feature food, games, a Moon Bounce and more. Click here for more details. 
  • Needle talk: The Burlington Public Library is hosting the monthly Friday Knit Club today from 10 to 11:45 a.m. This club offers participants a chance to learn, share, and motivate one another in the art of knitting.
  • Baby books: The Library is also hosting a Baby Storytime for newborns to children 18 months old at 11 a.m. this morning. Delight and stimulate your baby’s senses with books, songs and puppets that help build brain power.
  • Zombie fight: Guard Up! Family Swordsmanship & NERF is hosting an "Escape of the Super Zombies" game at 7 p.m. tonight. Grab your NERF blaster and get ready for an action packed evening tracking the new and improved undead. Darts provided. This event is intended for participants 12 and up and is $20 per person.
