Today is Monday, Nov. 5. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Sunny but cool: Looks like it will be a nice but pretty cool day. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 44 degrees. Mostly clear tonight with a low around 26.
  • Public meeting: The Burlington Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. in the main hearing room in Town Hall.
  • Lacrosse registration: Burlington Youth Lacrosse for boys and girls between grades K-8 is now open for registration. Registration for Spring 2013 is online only at: http://www.burlingtonlax.com/ Early bird discount if registration is completed by November 12.
  • Lend a hand: The community group "Help Me Help Someone" (HELPIS) is meeting at 7 p.m. this evening in the Burlington Public Library. According to the group "This organization will bring people in our community together to reach out and help those in need. Through simple act of kindness and generosity we will heal, uplift, inspire, and improve the lives of others."
  • Facebook showdown: Burlington Patch is taking on Lexington Patch in a Facebook "like" showdown. We are looking to see who can get more likes between now and Nov. 21 (day before the Burlington/Lexington Thanksgiving Day game). Help us beat Lexington by liking our Facebook page today.
