Today is Tuesday, Jan. 22. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Snow: Looks like we could get some winter weather today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect snow, mainly before noon today, with new accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a high near 26 degrees. Partly cloudy tonight and cold with a low around 5 with wind chill values as low as -6.
  • Public meetings: The Board of Health is meeting at 7 p.m. in the main hearing room at Town Hall. The School Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Burlington High School meeting room.
  • New career help: The Burlington Public Library is hosting a Career Transition program from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. today. This is a networking and workshop dedicated to providing a 'roadmap to re-employment' for transitioning professionals. It is free and all are welcome.
  • Scrabble Club: The Burlington Public Library is holding a session of the Scrabble Club from 3:45 to 5 p.m. this afternoon. The club is open to students in grades 4 - 8 and no registration required.
