5T: Partly Sunny but Cold Tonight, Parents Night Out and Foam Sword Fun

Five things to know today.

Five Things You Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

Today is Friday, Feb. 1. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Partly sunny: Looks like a somewhat clear day but will be cool tonight. According to the National Weather Service we can expect partly sunny skies with a high near 36 degrees today. Windy with gusts as high as 29 miles per hour. Partly cloudy tonight with a low around 19 degrees and gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Parent's night out: Looking for a night to yourselves without the kids? Echo Enrichment Center is giving parents a chance to enjoy a night out. Drop the kids off starting at 6:30 p.m. for a game night. Cost is $20 per person and $10 for additional siblings. Click here for details and to RSVP.
  • Adventure Night: Guard Up! Family Swordsmanship & NERF is holding an "Adventure Night: Jack Frost and the Groundhog" event at 7 p.m. this evening. "The people of Siddleterra were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Spring Groundhog, the traditional herald of warmer weather and greener days. As they stood with baited breath for his appearance, they were shocked to instead find a note from Jack Frost, the Winter Imp.  Apparently the groundhog is gone, and only the hardiest of Heroes will be able to rescue him from his icy prison.  Are you up for the challenge?" Foam swords provided. Cost is $20.
