Today is Thursday, Dec. 20. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Mostly sunny: Looks like a pretty nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature near 40 degrees. Showers likely overnight with a low around 34.
  • Japanese anime club: The Burlington Public Library is hosting a Teen Animanga Club event from 4 to 5 p.m. today. The club will be viewing Japanese anime (animation) and discussing manga (Japanese comics). There will also be crafts, drawing, snacks - plus giveaways and contests.
  • Holiday dessert tasting: The Burlington Public Library is also hosting its "Third Annual 'Holiday Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap'" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening. Share your baking skills or discover new recipes to delight your own holiday guests at the third annual 'Holiday Dessert Tasting and Recipe Swap.' Those who'd like to bake are asked to pre-register, and to provide copies of their recipe and enough of their special treat for 20 people to have a taste. Those who'd like simply to taste and enjoy are welcome as well. Click here for more information
