Today is Tuesday, Dec. 18. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Rain: Looks like another wet day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect rain and fog through most of the day. High temperature near 56 degrees. Rain likely tonight as well with a low around 35. 
  • Public meetings: The Housing Authority is meeting at 9 a.m. in the Housing Authority offices at 15 Birchcrest St. The Burlington Board of Appeals is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the main hearing room at Town Hall.
  • Blood drive: The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive from 1:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Burlington American Legion, 162 Winn St. Do your part and donate today and give the gift of life. 
  • New career help: The Burlington Public Library is hosting a Career Transition program from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. today. This is a networking and workshop dedicated to providing a 'roadmap to re-employment' for transitioning professionals. It is free and all are welcome.
  • Holiday crafts: The Library is also holding a Holiday Craft event from 7 to 8 p.m. for children and teens in grades 6 to 12.
