Today is Tuesday, Nov. 13. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Showers likely: Looks like a gray day today and the nice temperatures in the 60s we had yesterday are gone. According to the National Weather Service we can expect showers with a possible thunderstorm today. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a high near 53. Chance of showers tonight with a low around 30. 
  • Public meetings: The Board of Health is meeting at 7 p.m. this evening in the main hearing room at Town Hall. The School Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room at Burlington High School.
  • Blood drive: The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive from 1:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Burlington American Legion, 162 Winn St. Do your part and donate today and give the gift of life. 
  • New career help: The Burlington Public Library is hosting a Career Transition program from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today. This is a networking and workshop dedicated to providing a 'roadmap to re-employment' for transitioning professionals. It is free and all are welcome.
