5 Things You Need to Know Today, Sept. 21

A nice and mostly sunny day, a concert and a spirits tasting.

Five Things You Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.

Today is Friday, Sept. 21. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Mostly sunny: Looks like a nice day today. After some morning fog before 9 a.m. we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Partly cloudy tonight with a low around 51.
  • Needle talk: The Burlington Public Library is hosting the monthly Friday Knit Club today from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This club offers participants a chance to learn, share, and motivate one another in the art of knitting.
  • Concert: Mount Hope Christian Center is hosting a concert featuring the Colorado based band, "The Ineloquent" at 7:30 p.m. this evening. The concert is open to all ages and tickets cost $5, which includes drinks and dessert. Check out the band's latest album at www.theineloquent.com.
  • Spirits tasting: Busa Wine & Spirits is hosting a tasting of a new spirit called Pisco Portón from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. The drink is described as "an unapologetically flavorful spirit that brings dimension and character back to the drinking experience." Come down and check it out.
  • Take the good, take the bad...: On this day in 1985, some guy joined the Facts of Life cast as a handyman. Who was that guy again? He had longish hair, a famous relative, no one knew who he was... Oh, that's right. George Clooney. Whatever happened to that guy anyway?
