Today is Tuesday, Sept. 18. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Afternoon showers: We might get a little wet this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service we have a 70 percent chance of showers, mostly after 1 p.m. Otherwise cloudy with a high near 73 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms possible tonight with a low around 62. 
  • Public meetings: The Burlington Board of Appeals is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the main hearing room on the second floor of Town Hall. The Capital Budget Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the basement meeting room in the Town Hall Annex.
  • Crafts: The Burlington Public Library is holding a craft activity for students in grades six and up at 4 p.m. today.
  • Blood drive: The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive, route: {:controller=>"events", :action=>"show", :id=>"american-red-cross-blood-drive-179"} --> from 1:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Burlington
