Today is Tuesday, July 26. Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • Sunshine: With the exception of a little fog before 7
a.m., the National Weather Service expects us to see a lot of sunshine today in Burlington. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s, and probably dip into the mid-60s at night.
  • Board games: The is hosting a "" program from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today. The program is intended for kids between kindergarten and fifth-grade.
  • Movies on the common: The Burlington Recreation Department is hosting the first of this year's "" tonight. All the movies shown will be for all ages and the screening starts at dusk.
  • Lend a hand: The library is also hosting a meeting of a new group "" at 7 p.m. this evening. According to the event post "This organization will bring people in our community together to reach out and help those in need. Through simple act of kindness and generosity we will heal, uplift, inspire, and improve the lives of others."
  • A city mourns: On this day in 1993, the city of Boston mourned the loss of a Boston Celtics star. Reggie Lewis collapsed on the
basketball court at Brandeis University during a practice. Two hours later, the 27-year-old was pronounced dead. Lewis had collapsed during a game earlier in the year and was told he should end his basketball career because of a rare heart arrhythmia. But he continued to work toward returning to the court, which turned fatal for Lewis. In 1995, the Celtics retired Lewis’ number and his memory lives on in the form of the Reggie Lewis Foundation.
