Grafton is best known for her "alphabet mysteries" set in a fictional California town and featuring female private investigator Kinsey Millhone. A member of the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, Grafton is one of the most popular thriller writers in the U.S. Cather was the author of the famous novel "My Antonia," taught in high schools and colleges everywhere. Originally a journalist, Cather followed her dream to publish fiction and wrote several novels about pioneer life.
