Reading Co-operative Bank donates to the Reading Fire Department

February 19, Reading, MA – Reading Co-operative Bank recently donated $2,500 to the Reading Fire Department to assist in the installation of 250 fire hydrant markers in the town.

RCB partnered with the Fire Department to increase safety, by enabling fire fighters to more easily locate fire hydrants that may become buried under snow. Furthermore, Reading Memorial High School students will be able to assist with the program as a community service project.

“Freshmen at Reading Memorial High School are eager to participate in community service at the Reading Fire Department, however, due to the lack of active programs we were unable to offer projects that they could participate in. With Reading Co-operative Bank’s help, we started a program that will provide the students with a worthwhile effort to improve the safety of Reading residents,” says Peter Marchetti, captain on the Reading Fire Department.
