Tavern In the Square Progressing, To Open Soon (Images)

The Tavern is currently hiring workers and training set to begin next week.

Work on the set to open at 1 New England Executive Park is coming along nicely and a company manager said the doors will soon be open.

As readers can see in the images above, work on the outside of the restaurant is nearly complete, the outdoor patio floor is set and the landscaping is underway. A new section of parking in front of the building is currently hardening.

A restaurant manager who did not want to be named as a spokesman for the company told Patch this week that the company is set to begin training new employees next week and a "soft," or limited-hour, open is set for the week after. He said the restaurant will be officially open soon, most likely within the next month, depending on the completion of employee training and construction.

That statement coincides with a job listing on Craiglist, which state the restaurant will open in July or August.

Those looking for an employment opportunity should visit the job portion of the Tavern's web site for information on how to apply. When these pictures were taken Thursday evening, there were managers at the location welcoming prospective employees and one job-seeker was in the process of filling out an application.

As reported in our on the new Tavern in the Square, the restaurant intends to build a 5,000 square foot addition to the space as well as an outdoor patio seating area. In total, the restaurant will accommodate up to 300 guests and will include a small function room which will hold 30-50 guests. 

The Tavern in the Square boasts an enormous menu with over 100 items and plenty of big screen televisions to satisfy sports lovers. Managing Partner Stephen Desousa stated that the company is in the process of refining the menu and adding items for clients with allergies such as gluten allergies. But, he says the menu will still be expansive.
