Signs Go Up on the New Wegmans at 3rd Avenue Burlington

The grocery store, long awaited by locals, is set to open in Burlington this fall.

The signs are up on the building for the soon to open Wegmans at Burlington's 3rd Avenue development.

The Burlington Wegmans is a full service grocery store which will include a pharmacy, sushi department, pizza shop, sub shop, coffee shop, Asian cuisine, Kosher foods, vegetarian bar and Indian cuisine. It will also have an on premise liquor, beer and wine store. 

Wegman's is slated to open in the fall. It's also currently hiring for positions in the new location. Applicants can apply at wegmans.com/careers. The location is expected to employ nearly 600

Ground was broken for the Burlington Wegmans back in the fall of 2012. 

Wegmans signed a 30-year lease with options to renew, and is building a 135,000 square foot facility with adjacent parking for 800 vehicles. Original plans for the project include: a 14,000 square foot mezzanine overlooking a food court, an outdoor café and outdoor cooking classes. Customers will be able to enter and exit Wegman’s from Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue or from Network Drive via Second Avenue.

3rd Avenue is being developed as a wide boulevard lined with restaurants, cafes, retail boutiques and other service amenities, with a focus on pedestrian walkways and public green space. The development is easily accessible to major area roadways, and is bounded by Route 3, the Middlesex Turnpike and Route 128/Interstate 95.  For more information about 3rd Ave, visit www.3rdAveBurlington.com or check out their Facebook page
