New Restaurant to Open in Pizzeria Villafranca Location

Gigi's Roast Beef and Pizza set to open next week.

A new restaurant will soon be opened in the old Pizzeria Villafranca location at 5 Center Street.

The new restaurant will be Gigi's Roast Beef and Pizza and according to the owner it should be set and ready to open by late next week. Currently the place is undergoing some renovations and cleaning before the grand opening.

Owner Bedros Kaya, of Waltham, said the pizza shop will be a family run business with a focus on customer service. This will be Kaya's third restaurant.

"Our main focus will be on customer service," he said. "We want to treat people fairly and serve the best food we can. I want this to be a friendly atmosphere."

Kaya said the menu will keep the popular food Villafranca offered combined with a host of new options.

"We're not taking anything off the menu, we're just adding new things," he explained. "People won't miss what they like."

For example, Kaya said the brick-oven pizzas will be the same as when the restaurant was Villafranca. The recipe and ingredients are all the same. He also said entrees like the steak tips will be the same as they were before.

"I used to come here for the steak tips and really liked them," he said.

The new entrees will include soups, a wide variety of subs, roast beef sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and chicken wings.

Kaya said he is especially excited about the chicken wings and chicken tenders. The restaurant is going to offer 14 different sauces for them, including the classic and some unique choices such as honey hot teriyaki, garlic buffalo and sweet and sour.

"I think the big hit will be the wings and tenders," he said. "They are all made from fresh chicken, not frozen."

Gigi's will also offer new, freshly-made cheeseburgers and meatballs, homemade salad dressings and daily soup specials. Kaya said the family also bought a conveyor oven that allows them to make fresh roast turkey for sandwiches, rather than pre-packaged deli meat.

"I think that will be popular," he said.

Gigi's should be open by late next week, Kaya said. He said since he put up the sign saying the restaurant would open soon he has received many phone calls from interested potential customers.

"People seem interested to come in," he said. "I know I'm excited."

Burlington Patch will have an update when the restaurant opens.
