'Totally Different' Restaurant Opening in Burlington This Week

Clover is slated to open its doors this week, bringing what it calls a healthier fast food option to town.

Burlington diners have plenty of fast food options at their disposal. But starting this week, one company is hoping to bring fast food with a twist.

Clover is opening its newest location at 100 Mall Road in the upcoming days, looking to bring a healthier fast food option to the business community.

“It’s a pretty unique concept,” said manager Michael Sutton, who grew up in Burlington. “We provide local, fresh ingredients. We serve people quickly, and we’re hoping to do fast food that’s good for you and better for the environment.”

Clover features sandwiches, salads, soups, and a wide variety of other items on its menu at a store location that is designed to be open and welcoming to the customer.

In addition to two restaurant locations in Cambridge, Clover also operates seven food trucks in the Boston area. In the last two months leading up to this week’s opening, Clover has also been operating its food trucks around Burlington with much success.

The business was still under construction as of late last week, but remains on track for several milestones in upcoming days. Clover will hold a VIP opening on Wednesday night before opening to the general public for “Free Sandwich Day” on Thursday.

Beginning at 11 a.m., customers can come in to try Clover at no charge, chowing down until the newest business runs out of food. Friday is then the official opening for the company, which will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as it is open seven days a week from 6 a.m.-9 p.m.

“I think everything we do is totally different than anyone else,” said Sutton. “From the type of food that we’re serving and the way we’re serving it to our interaction with our guests. I’ve worked in the restaurant business for 15 years and everything about this is totally different.”
