Iconic Discout Store Files for Bankruptcy
A local discount store is shutting its doors after 50 years of business.
It's difficult times for a well loved discount store with a Burlington location.
According to BizJournals.com, Building #19 Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last Friday and has hired a Boston-based liquidation firm to assist with a going out of business sale.
Building #19 Inc., based in Hingham, has 10 locations, including one in Burlington. According to the story the store intends to liquidate its $250 million in inventory and sell off its furniture and fixtures.
In total the company has about 130 employees.
