Discover Treasures: Family Treasure Chest Resale

The Patch Passport shows you where you can find trinkets in your town. Get out and explore the unique local shops and all they have to offer.

For owners Lauren and Tom Siracusa, is not only a store but a work in progress.

When they bought The Children’s Treasure Chest in December 2009, they slowly began to shift from a strictly resale clothing boutique to a store that would cover the entire family’s needs. By spring 2011, the format had changed and so had the name.

Family Treasure Chest Resale still carries gently worn children’s clothing, but has rapidly grown to stock a huge selection of video games, DVDs, small electronics, laptops, Internet tablets, computer accessories and even cell phones and GPS units. These days their inventory is growing and changing all the time.

“We are very curious and excited to see what the store will evolve into in the months to come,” said Thomas. “For someone who grew up locally, I’m really trying to bring a little ‘Tune Town’ back to Tewksbury.”

Proud of his local roots, Tom has strong ties to the community. He is currently one of the directors on The Friends of Tewksbury Patriotic Activities Commission and participates in fundraising efforts that help to finance the town’s 4th of July Celebration and Memorial Day Parade along with various other public activities.

Family Treasure Chest Resale is a resale store which means they purchase items from you for either cash or store credit. The store sells to the public at prices far below standard retail and even accepts Game Stop gift cards.

The selection is growing every day.

“We changed the format to broaden the narrow market and look towards the future,” said Thomas.

This is a great store! I have purchased many items for my daughter at this store. And the owners are so friendly, it's a pleasure doing business there.
