Cub Scouts Pack 555 Annual Pie Collection

In November, Cub Scouts pack 555 came joined together with the United Church of Christ to piece together contributions that supply thanksgiving meals to needy families in Burlington. This event is a collaboration of the Burlington Food pantry, People Helping People and other contributions from surrounding organizations and churches.

The cub scouts of pack 555 play the important role in this feast by collecting pies from charitable shoppers at the Shaws on Cambridge street.  Shaws fellowship in this event has welcomed the Cub Scouts to gather outside their doors and ask patrons to purchase a pie for needy families and return the pies to the scouts collection when they finish their regular shopping.

Hour by hour the young scouts enthusiastically handed out papers explaining their request. And hour by hour the shopping carts filled up with donated pies from charitable patrons. The excitement in each scouts eyes as a shopper exited with a pie in hand is sure to equal the joy in a families eyes at such a heartwarming gift.

By the end of the day Pack 555 had collected 221 pies and a cash collection for families totaling over $440. The Cub Scouts of Pack 555 thank you for your support.
