Inspired by the realization that there are a million reasons to walk because cancer impacts us all, the event celebrates its seventh year in Burlington and third in Peabody. With the help of community support and participation, 2012 will be the year when the Walk reaches an impressive milestone—a cumulative total of $1,000,000 raised in support of cancer care at Lahey Clinic.  Donations to this year’s walk will go to the nurse navigator programs and other supportive services. This year’s Platinum Plus sponsor is Salter HealthCare, which operates rehabilitation and nursing centers in Woburn and Winchester. The event media sponsors are Magic 106.7 and 105.7 WROR.

The family-friendly event will feature music, dancing, amusements, educational booths, and inspiring stories from cancer survivors. Walkers can form teams by mobilizing family and friends or walk individually. A complimentary continental breakfast at registration and after-walk brunch will be available.
