Privateering During the Revolution; A Look at Bravery at Sea

Professor Richard St. Pierre, of will be the guest speaker at our September meeting.  We will learn how the British warships were disrupted around the seaside town of Salem during the Revolutionary War.  We have, of course, heard about the Salem witches living in this fascinating town; but some of us never heard about the brave citizens of Salem standing up to the British in armed private ships cruising against the warships of the enemy.  Privateering during the Revolutionary War will be a most interesting subject…one you don’t want to miss!
