Winter Storm Warning in Effect in Burlington
How much snow might Burlington get this week?

The following is the latest snow predictions as of 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The National Weather Service has upgraded the winter storm watch to a winter storm warning.
The affected area includes Burlington.
The warning is from Thursday at 4 a.m. until Friday at 10 a.m. Predicted snow accumulations have increased to 8 to 14 inches.
The snow will likely start early Thursday morning, the National Weather states, with overnight accumulation of less than an inch. The Burlington area could see 2 to 4 inches during the day Thursday and an additional 4 to 8 inches Thursday night. We may get an additional 1 to 3 inches on Friday.
It will also be very cold. The daytime temperature on Thursday will be around 19 degrees and the temperature will dip to 6 degrees with a -10 wind-chill factor Thursday night.
A winter storm warning is issued when an average of 6 or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or 8 or more inches in a 24-hour period.
The Burlington Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday due to the storm.
