Lahey Clinic Offering Flu Clinics as Number of Cases Spikes

Lahey Clinic will be administering flu vaccines this weekend.

Lahey Clinic is offering two flu clinics this weekend as reports of a worse-than-usual flu season emerge in the media.

The Burlington Board of Health posted on its web site that has "has been informed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) that influenza numbers are on the rise."

The Washington Post reported that Boston declared a public health emergency this past Wednesday after 18 flu-related deaths were reported so far.

Lahey Clinic's flu clinics:

Flu clinics are available at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, on Saturday, January 12, and Sunday, January 13, from 8 am to noon.

The flu clinics will be held in the Southeast Lobby of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington (41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01805). The clinics are open to members of the public age 18 or over. You do not need to be a Lahey Hospital & Medical Center patient to receive a flu vaccine. Please bring your insurance card and present it when checking in at the flu clinic. You will not pay anything at the time of your vaccine; we will bill your insurance company for the cost of your shot.

To minimize your wait time, we are recommending that you call 781-744-8000 to schedule a flu vaccine appointment. However, walk-in patients will also be accommodated.

Flu clinic participants will not pay a fee to park, as parking garage tickets will be validated.
