About the Charles A. Doherty Memorial Foundation

The Charles A. Doherty Memorial Foundation (CADMF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, was established in 2013 to perpetuate the memory of Charles A. Doherty who died suddenly at age 34 from complications associated with bicuspid aortic valve disease (BAVD).  Its goal is to aid in the prevention of premature deaths arising from BAV abnormalities by raising funds to improve diagnosis and treatment strategies, providing scholarships to students seeking a career in cardiology, serving as a resource for BAV patients and families and increasing awareness of the disease and its associated risk factors.  More information about the CADMF can be found at: www.cadmf.org.
