Pyara Spa & Salon Owner Christine Perkins, "Paraffin is Out, Soy Wax is In"

Gone are the days of the unhygienic paraffin wax manicure (not to mention the procedure looks and feels like putting your hand in a fryolator to me), but don't fret, the procedure may be gone, but there's a better alternative -both in results and for the environment.

Christine Perkins, owner and founder of the award winning Pyara Spa & Salon, has discovered a welcome and very effective alternative to the outdated technique.

Pyara’s nail technicians now provide a 'Soy Wax Candle Manicure/Pedicure,' in which they light and melt down either the Caribbean or Shampure Aveda Soy Wax Candles (the customer chooses scent) and massage the wax into your hands. The result is total hydration and relaxation and your skin is left sealed and moisturized until your next manicure.

The procedure can be added to any mani/pedi procedure for $10.00.  You can also do this at home yourself by purchasing the Caribbean or Shampure Aveda Soy Wax Candles for $34.

ABOUT SOY WAX
Soy wax was discovered in 1991, but only recently has become an alternative to paraffin. Why soy wax over paraffin?  Soy is a natural, renewable, non-toxic and biodegradable wax, unlike paraffin, which is a natural product but derived from components of a decayed animal or plant.

Better for you and the environment. You can hold your head --and your nails high!
