Fitness Together Burlington and Brendan Stapleton get recognition for charitable contributions

August 27th 2013 6:00 pm

Brendan Stapleton, owner of Fitness Together Burlington and Fitness Together Melrose , was recognized by the Fitness Together franchise last year with the “Making a Difference Award” for his efforts in raising nearly $200,000 by participating in numerous races, including marathons, triathlons and charity walks & rides. Brendan donated the money to local chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, American Diabetes Association (ADA), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Nashoba Learning Group, Burlington’s Relay for Life, the Woburn Boy’s & Girl’s club and more.

Now, Brendan is being recognized by the House of Representatives as well as the Speaker of the House, Robert A. DeLeo. State Representative Kenneth Gordon will be presenting an official citation to Brendan on Wednesday, August 28, at the Fitness Together Burlington. Both DeLeo and Gordon commend Brendan on his exemplary charitable spirit and his generous contributions to the community through numerous philanthropic initiatives.

It all started with helping out one local charity. Helping one organization eventually evolved into helping more and participating in more local events, such as Relay for Life. After participating once or twice, representatives from different local organizations started reaching out to Brendan about events, instead of the other way around, and Brendan loved doing it. Now, Fitness Together is being recognized for its outstanding contributions to local organizations.
