Lahey Hospital & Medical Center New Signage at 41 Mall Road Campus Features New Name

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington (formerly Lahey Clinic Medical Center) officially renamed its 41 Mall Road and Wall Street campuses. The name change follows the establishment of Lahey Health through an affiliation between Lahey Clinic Hospital, Inc. and Northeast Health System – the former parent company of Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, Lahey Health Behavioral Services and Lahey Health Senior Care.

The name change from Lahey Clinic to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center better represents the breadth and depth of services offered by Lahey Health at 41 Mall Road.

For nine decades, the name Lahey Clinic has represented the physician multidisciplinary group practice, providing extraordinary coordinated specialty care for patients in one setting. However, over the years, the facilities and resources at 41 Mall Road have grown and now include an ambulatory center, a level II trauma center and a 317-bed teaching hospital of Tufts Medical School. As part of Lahey Health, these resources serve as the tertiary hub of the integrated system. To better represent these resources Lahey Clinic was renamed Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Subsequently, Lahey Clinic Medical Center, North Shore, has been renamed Lahey Medical Center, Peabody. The employed physician group, the Lahey Clinic Physician Group, preserves the original vision of Dr. Frank Lahey of an integrated multispecialty physician-led organization.
