Follow up Domestic Violence Awareness Month Save Date Thursday 10/17

Purple Light Night!  Save a life!  Our goal is to light every home in our town for the month of October with a black light on a front porch.  We will be holding our 1st Annual Purple Light Night to raise awareness and come out of the shadows for Domestic Violence as a community.  This will be held in the Kelly-Murray Wing of the Senior/Recreation Center Building on Center Street from 5:30-7:30.  We will have the Silent Witness Exhibit which is provided to us by REACH Beyond Domestic Violence.  There will be some purple lights as well as bracelets and a bake sale.  We will be accepting donations that will go directly to REACH to help DV victims and our Community Life Center.  We will end the ceremony by silently walking with battery candles to the police station.  We will be lighting a tree with black lights in front of the station to Remember the lives lost, Support those that have left abuse and to bring Hope to those that are still living in violence.  Our hope is that we can help be their voices and show them the light.  There is help.
