Town Meeting Warrant Information Session

Five things to know today.

Today is Thursday, September 12. Here are five things to know: 

1) Possible showers 

Looks like a mixed-bag weather wise today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. and some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Otherwise partly sunny with a high near 85 degrees. Showers likely tonight with a low around 65. 

2) Get the lowdown on Town Meeting articles 

Are you a Town Meeting member? Interested in learning more about the upcoming Town Meeting warrant? There will be an informational session from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex basement meeting room tonight with details on some of the articles. This event is also open to all warrant articles sponsors and will allow those in attendance an opportunity to meet with project proponent. 

3) Public meetings 

The Library Board of Trustees is meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the Burlington Public Library. Click here for the agenda. The Conservation Commission is meeting at 7 p.m. in the main hearing room at Town Hall. Click here for the agenda

4) Toastmasters 

The Burlington Public Library is holding a meeting of the International Toastmasters today from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Toastmasters International which is dedicated to helping members improve their communication and leadership skills. The Last Word Toastmasters Club invites guests to a fun-filled, stress-free, supportive group. There is no cost to attend a meeting. No signup or registration is necessary.

5) Book Talk

The Library is also hosting a Book Talk program today at 10:30 a.m. - A friendly and informal gathering of people who like to read. Hear about new books, and share what you've been reading. No required reading! Walk-ins welcome.
