Help Students in Need with a Hair Cut

Five things to know today.

Today is Wednesday, August 21. Here are five things to know: 

1) Sunny and hot 

Looks like the hot temperatures are returning. According to theNational Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a high near 89 degrees. Mostly clear tonight with a low around 66. 

2) Help students in need with a hair cut 

Children receiving a back-to-school haircut at the Hair Cuttery salons in Burlington during the month of August will be giving one back to a disadvantaged child in the community.  Now through August 31st, every time a child (18 years old or younger) receives a haircut at any of the Hair Cuttery salons in New England, including the salons in Woburn, a free hair cut will be donated to a disadvantaged child in the community. Click here for more info. 

3) Support veterans 

4th Annual Veterans and Supporters Dinner Social which will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Hillview Country Club, 149 North Street, North Reading from 2 to 6 p.m.  It is an afternoon of gathering and honoring our Veterans and Warriors for their Service and Sacrifice. Tickets are now on sale

4) Storytime 


The Burlington Public Library is holding a family storytime at 10:30 a.m. today. Come and enjoy delightful digging stories and crafts every Wednesday morning. The whole family is welcome, but younger children may require assistance from parents when doing the crafts.
