Help Fill a Time Capsule at the Library Today

Five things to know today.

Today is Friday, August 16. Here are five things to know:

1) Sunny and warm

Looks like a nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a high near 80 degrees. Mostly clear tonight with a low around 56.

2) Time capsule

The Burlington Public Library will be placing a time capsule is the ground to be opened sometime in the future. Students entering grades 2-8 are invited to come to the library to write letters and draw pictures to place inside the capsule. Students are also invited to bring small items from home to place inside to capsule for the future people of Burlington to enjoy. They will then all go outside to bury the capsule on the library's grounds. The program will take place today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

3) Storytimes

The library is also holding two story times today. The first is Baby Storytime at 11 a.m. for children under 18 months old. The second is Toddler Storytime at 11:30 a.m. for children aged 18-36 months.

4) Vaccinations

Burlington Public Schools have requirements for student vaccinations/immunizations before the start of the school year. Read about the requirements and about vaccinations in general

5) A man and his car

On Saturday, August 10th, Burlington resident Larry Chiodi attended Herb Chambers’ “Cars & Coffee” at the Herb Chambers Infiniti of Westborough, an early morning meet up of classic, vintage and specialty cars from all over New England. He was there with his Mustang GT/LS. Click here to check it out
