Five things to know today.

Today is Thursday, September 19. Here are five things to know: 

1) Sunny and a bit warmer 

Looks like another nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a nigh near 78 degrees. Clear tonight with a low around 50. 

2) Public meeting 

The Burlington Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the main hearing room at Town Hall. Click here for the agenda

3) Store opening 

A Microsoft Retail Store will be opening in the Burlington Mall today with a concert on Saturday featuring singer/songwriter Demi Lovato. Check out our story

4) Syria discussion 

The Burlington Public Library is hosting an eight part series on U.S. Foreign Policy led by Dr. Craig Brandt, a former naval officer and experienced 'Great Decisions' discussion leader. The discussion will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon and today's topic is "The Syrian Civil War and its International Consequences."

5) Play bridge 

The Burlington Public Library is hosting two bridge playing events today. The first is COA Bridge Players, a group aimed at seniors, which will meet at 1 p.m. The second is the Thursday Night Bridge group, which meets at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions are open to the public, so come down, play some bridge and meet new people.
