The Burlington Public Library is back to normal hours according to a release from Library Director Lori Hodgson.
"We want to thank you all for your patience and understanding while we dealt with this safety issue at the library," Hodgson said." The backup system has been fully repaired and we are now fully operational and will be open our regular scheduled hours beginning today, Friday, Dec. 20.
The library began closing at 4 p.m. on December 4 because the emergency lighting system was out of order therefore, in a power outage, the library had no working lights to safely evacuate the building, Hodgson explained.
