DESCRIPTION:The Presbyterian Church welcome anyone who would like to take
  part in a retreat called &ldquo\;Winter Light: Discerning Our Path.&rdq
 uo\;&nbsp\; This date marks the traditional church celebration called &l
 dquo\;Candlemas\,&rdquo\; which falls forty days after Christmas. As a t
 ime halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox\, it is a
  good time to share in gratitude for light\, including\, for Christians\
 , God&rsquo\;s light in Jesus.\nThere will be an opportunity for partici
 pants to pause and ponder the light and shadow in their own lives. We wi
 ll share in small groups what it might mean for us to be on a clearer pa
 th. There will also be plenty of hands on activities: a highlight will b
 e the making of candles\, which will then be used in a closing time of w
 orship and blessing. Candlemas is a traditional time for blessing the ca
 ndles which will be used in the household in the coming year.&nbsp\;\nTh
 ere will also be journaling\, an art activity\, and a chance for quiet c
 onversation and contemplation.&nbsp\;
