Learn with expert instructor Natan Margalit.
Natan was raised in Honolulu, studied anthropology at Reed College in Portland, Ore., made aliya and studied for many years in Israeli yeshivot. He received rabbinic ordination at The Jerusalem Seminary in 1990 and earned a Ph.D. in Talmud from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2001. Margalit has held teaching positions at Bard College, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College. He is spiritual leader of The Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life, in western Connecticut, and visiting rabbi at Congregation Adas Yoshuron, in Rockville, Maine. Margalit is president of Organic Torah Inc., a nonprofit organization that foster holistic thinking about Judaism, the environment and society.
This program is offered by HebrewCollege and CJP's Commission on Jewish Life and Learning. Participants hail from all backgrounds and faith traditions, and include interfaith couples and single parents
