The FrogWatch USA program is intended to promote high scientific integrity in data collection and reporting procedures by volunteers and to expand FrogWatch’s large-scale and long-term database of scientific knowledge. By emphasizing both the nature of science and environmental education, volunteers are empowered to contribute directly to science and conservation. Through this program, individuals and families can learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by reporting the calls of local frogs and toads.
The FrogWatch USA program is a flagship for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ engagement of citizen scientists in caring for species and habitats at risk.
