The Curious Creatures professionals teach respect and appreciation for exotic and unusual animals. The presentation is hands-on and interactive and includes interesting facts and stories about our creatures in an educational and entertaining environment. Curious Creatures is bringing ten to twelve animals to the Used Book Superstore Saturday April 14.  Bring the kids!  The free show might include any or all of these:

RED OR YELLOW FOOT TORTOISE – from South America – look for his spots!

PYGMY HEDGEHOG – from Africa – learn why they roll into a ball!

RED TAILED BOA CONSTRICTOR – from Columbia – do you want to feel it constrict??

BURMESE PYTHON – from Indochina – find out how big they grow!

GIANT COCKROACHES – from Madagascar – without these guys there wouldn’t be a rainforest!

FERRET – originally from Europe – see how playful they are!

AMERICAN ALLIGATOR- from Florida – see how many eyelids they have!

DUMPY TREE FROGS – from Australia – see how good they can stick to the wall!

BLACK EMPEROR SCORPION – from Southeast Asia – what large claws!

ROSE HAIR TARANTULA – from Chili – find out why they need their poison!

CHINCHILLA – from the highlands of Peru – find out about their special fur!

BEARDED DRAGON – they look so thorny, but they are so gentle!!

Avid readers looking to bulk up their library or check books off their list will want to head to the Used Book Superstore in Burlington.  One of five locations, this store has hundreds of thousands of books for a shopper's browsing and buying pleasure.  All books are priced at $2.99 or less, shelved on row upon row of categorized stacks.  For the customer who can't wait to get home before digging into his or her new purchase, there are many chairs and couches scattered throughout the store.  For children there is a small play area in the corner of the store near the children's selections.  There are also Melissa and Doug puzzles and toys for sale.  Donations of books can be made, with proceeds going to RARA, an organization that assists challenged adults.
