The Fionda Committee is pleased to announce that Dave Fionda will be meeting with voters at the True North Café located at 204 Cambridge St. in Burlington on Saturday August 18, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“I am looking forward to having coffee with the voters of our district,” said Fionda. “Small businesses like the True North Café drive our economy and will be essential in getting people back to work.”
Dave is a Democrat running a write-in campaign to replace Representative Charley Murphy, who recently retired from the legislature. Murphy has endorsed Dave as his successor.
"I am running because I passionately believe that it’s time for Beacon Hill to Put People First."
Dave will bring his lifelong dedication to helping others to Beacon Hill. In addition to having been an elected Town Meeting member for two terms, he has been appointed to several town boards, including the Land Use Committee, and the Informational Services Advisory Committee. Dave is also a Rotarian, single parent, coach, successful small business owner and entrepreneur.
Since Charley’s announcement was beyond the June 1st date for candidate withdrawals, he will remain the only candidate on the ballot for the September 6th primary. Should Representative Murphy “win” the September 6 primary, the Democratic Town Committees of the three towns in the District, Bedford, Burlington and Wilmington, will meet and caucus. They will them decide who will be the Democratic nominee in the November 6 general election.
